Cymric Cat, With Long Hair And No Tail
Coming from the Manx cats, which are sometimes born with long hair, a spontaneous genetic mutation meant that they did not have a tail or that it was too short. Breeders were responsible for crossing offspring with these characteristics to generate a new specimen.

Remember that the short-haired, tailless Manx kitten hails from the Isle of Man, located between England and Ireland. The name Cymric, on the other hand, derives from the word Wales, in Celtic language.
Other Physical Characteristics of the Cymric Cat
In addition to the total or partial lack of tail and long hair, the Cymric cat has the following characteristics:

- Colors : varied (solid, bicolor, shaded, tricolor and carey)
- Coat: Shiny and smooth, with a very thick undercoat

Regarding the tail, it remains to be specified that there are three varieties of Cymric. The Rumpy not have and has a hole at the base. The Stumpy, on the other hand, has only a few vertebrae. And Longy has a tail a little shorter than the average cat. However, some specimens are born with full tails.

Also, as they often lose a lot of hair, attention should be paid to the formation of trichobezoars in the digestive system. In any case, your veterinarian will advise you on how to prevent and treat this problem.
