A Stray Dog enters A Police Station And Becomes A Police Officer

If you’ve ever been out of a job, you’ve certainly dreamed many times about going somewhere where you’re offered a job, or just finding out that they need someone and you could apply. Well,  today we are going to tell the story of a stray dog named Gorgi who did exactly what many unemployed people dream of.

This furry was a stray dog who accidentally walked into a police station and is now a police dog. Next, we will tell the curious and pleasant story of this little dog.

Gorgi, the street dog turned cop

There are hundreds of dogs that live on the streets and they often come to us looking for affection. Unfortunately, not everyone has the resources to help, but there are many stories that show that there are still people with a good heart.

It was a morning in Puerto Rico, a hot day with a blazing sun, when  Gorgi arrived at the door of a police station in Bayamon.  The officers who worked there saw him and said he “was scared, malnourished and looked like he needed some love. “

That day, the police gave him food and water. The animal, despite having eaten, stayed with them for a long time and finally left. The police were enchanted with him and never thought that a stray dog that had possibly been abused and/or abandoned could be so kind and docile.

So when  Gorgi returned the next day looking  for  affection and food,  the cops wouldn’t let him go and adopted him.

Gorgi now holds the position of “police station supervisor dog.” His physical condition doesn’t allow him to do as hard training as police dogs do, but he can take good care of the station while it’s closed, as well as relieve the tensions and stress of police work.

In fact,  Gorgi has found a wonderful “home” that will give him love for  as long as he lives.  Thus, the police officers of this police station say to the dog Gorgi: “As long as you live, here you will have everything you need” .

Petfriendly, a stray dog can be an alternative to work stress

But what these officers may not know is that having a pet in the workplace to relieve stress is something that is already established in different parts of the world. This act is called Petfriendly and consists of allowing people to take their pets to their workplaces and, there, let them interact with other workers.

This has many benefits for the dog and the workers. The dog, being with its owner at work, will spend much less time at home alone and, therefore, will not feel bored, anxious and will not have the stress that these situations could generate.

On the other hand,  your owner will be calm about where and what your pet does at all times,  thus improving your nervousness and anxiety.

Also, other workers who cannot have a dog at home may enjoy having one at work. When the stress at work wears us out or when we get mad at a partner and even our boss, we’d like to cry and hug someone, who better than a furry one for that?

It has been scientifically proven that  having a dog around increases our emotional and mental health.  Therefore, Petfriendly is being established more and more in more workplaces.

The initiative these police officers took should set a precedent for providing shelter to other disadvantaged animals, so we congratulate them! We are sure they will take good care of Gorgi and that he will be very happy in his new home as long as he lives.

And if you don’t have a pet yet,  why not adopt one that needs a new home?  We are confident that with all the love and gratitude he will give you, you will never regret it.
