This cat appeared in the UK.  The first specimens of the breed originate from the union between a lilac Burmese (Burmese) cat and a chinchilla Persian cat. Hence the name, burmila .  This happened in 1981, so it’s a relatively new breed. When the first cats of this union were born, the breeders could not resist them and wanted to promote the species.

In order for the species to last, they began genetic tests with the best of each species until they got the perfect cat, the burmila cat we know today. This animal was not officially recognized by the International Feline Federation until 1994.

This is a medium-sized, muscular cat  with an elegant attitude. Your back is straight and your chest is rounded. It has long, thin legs, which paradoxically stand out for their strength.

The base of the tail is broad and tapered to the end, covered with a lot of hair and with a rounded tip. An interesting feature of the species is a mark that resembles the letter ‘m’ that appears to have on its forehead. Its head is triangular in shape, wider at the top and narrowing at the bottom.

The burmila cat’s eyes are large and almond-shaped,  with a black outline that stands out enormously in the green color of the iris. This will always be the color of your eyes, regardless of the hair color.

As for the fur, there are two distinct types of this cat, one with short fur and the other with long fur. The specimens have short hair close to the body, while those with long hair are moderate. The known colors are: blue, black, chocolate, lilac, red or cream. The fur will always be very shiny and soft, which attracts a lot of caresses for this animal.

As for your fur, several weekly brushes are convenient to remove dead fur and keep it glowing for a long period of time. This animal’s ears need to be checked and cleaned frequently to avoid possible infections, such as ear infections, which are quite common in cats.
